Get hands on instruction on how to manage one or man kind’s most nimble machines, and even apply your lesson towards a Helicopter Pilot’s license. Your instructor will be CAA qualified and will give you the basics of how to fly a helicopter.

Your lesson starts with an introduction to some of the controls and safety procedures. Your instructor will generally handle the take-off and landing, but once in the air it will be your turn to take the controls. Imagine flying a helicopter – way up in the sky! This is definitely a unique opportunity to learn a fun new skill, and maybe even find a new fun hobby.

Microlight Flying Experience

If you love the weightlessness of flight, then you’ll adore spending some time in a microlight. Get the ultimate experience as you soar around in this ultra light aircraft – and even have a chance to take the controls as you glide over the countryside.

When you meet at the airfield you’ll be given a pre-flight briefing which will introduce you to the aircraft, its controls and some basic principles before you take off. Your instructor will handle the take off and landing, and will take you through some gentle turns before handing the controls over to you. This is a unique experience that may spark a love of flying – or will just be a fun time that you will cherish forever.

Parachute Jump

Love adrenaline? Then you have to try out parachuting. Get on a plane and go up to 3,000 feet – then jump out! You’ll be supervised by a British Parachuting Association instructor, and you will have a thorough ground training session and fitness test before you go up. You don’t have to worry about pulling any strings as you’ll be put on a static line that will open the parachute automatically.

Upon arrival you’ll be enrolled into the program and you’ll be outfitted with the proper equipment. The first day will cover theory and the practical aspects of jumping, while on the second day you will get to take your static-line jump. For more fun bring a friend and have a great two day parachuting experience.

You haven’t really seen London until you get the bird’s eye view. See all the sights from up high during this amazing helicopter tour. You’ll be able to view Buckingham Palace, the House of Parliament, and even the London Eye. This is definitely a tour that you want to enjoy with a friend.

You’ll start with a safety briefing from your pilot, which will include the route you’ll be taking during your tour. The tour will start by following the River Thames, which will allow you to see some of London’s most magnificent sites – including the Tower of London, Canary Wharf and the Millennium Dome. Don’t forget your camera, as this is one trip you will want to remember forever!

Gliding Lesson Experience

Soar above the world, and leave your worries behind when you take to the skies in a dual control glider. Set off with a British Gliding Association instructor and enjoy the weightless feeling of riding thermals – while you learn how to pilot a glider. The lesson even counts as time towards a Glider Pilot’s certificate, so if you do want to become an accredited glider pilot you’ve already taken the first step!

Upon arrival you will complete some necessary paperwork and hand in your voucher (so don’t forget it). Anyone under 18 will need parental permission on the form. Then you will meet with your instructor for a briefing before you strap into your glider and take off for a great adventure!

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a pilot this is a great opportunity to see what it’s like, and your flight time even counts towards a Private Pilot’s license. Sessions vary by length, as well as breadth of flying instruction covered, so you can create your own personalized experience.

Start with a briefing with your instructor to cover safety and introductory control use. Once your plane has lifted off under the instructor’s guidance you will be given the controls and shown the basics of flying. Your pilot will generally handle the landing, but you will definitely enjoy every minute!

Flight Simulator Flying Experience

So you’ve always wanted to fly a plane, but find it’s too expensive? No worries, you can now fly to your heart’s content, without even leaving the ground. Take the controls and see what it’s like to fly a high performance jet, while being guided by an experienced airline pilot.

You day begins by meeting with your instructor for a 15 minute briefing, where you will be introduced to the basic skills required to handle a jet during simulation. Then you’ll be strapped into the simulator for an exciting 30 minutes, where you can practice your new skills. Try taking off, landing, and everything in between! At the end of your flight you’ll be giving a certificate and have an opportunity for photos. Fun!

Tandem Skydive Experience

Tandem skydiving is the perfect opportunity to try skydiving – without having to spend a day or two in training. With just a brief training session you can soon be up in the air and ready to jump, with an instructor behind you of course. Feel the rush as you fall 5,000 feet in just a few seconds, before your parachute opens and you glide gently back to Earth.

Your experience starts upon arrival at the jump centre, where you will fill out some paperwork and become a provisional member of the prestigious British Parachute Association. After changing into your skydiving equipment you’ll attend a safety session and practice the techniques you will need for your jump and landing. Then it’s off to 10-12,000 feet before you and your instructor take the plunge.
