While land yachting may be something you have just recently heard of, it has actually been around for approximately 4000 years – making it one of the oldest pastimes on earth. Using the power of wing you can hurtle over the sand at amazing speeds. This is definitely something that ever adrenaline junkie out there needs to try.
When you arrive you’ll be briefed on safety and how to handle your land yacht. Initially you will sail at a low speed so you can get the hang of steering and stopping your yacht, and then your instructor will let you take a few turns on the figure-eight course. If you show an aptitude of handling you may be permitted to take the yacht out for a gybe turn – an advanced manoeuvre. Each time you handle the yacht you will be able to increase the speeds you reach, making this a fun and exhilarating experience.
