Now here’s something a little different to consider… If you’re looking for a romantic getaway but you’re fed up with expensive hotels and city breaks, why not head to the country and enjoy an eco retreat experience?

As a part of this ecco retreat experience you’ll both spend two nights in a Native American tipi, situated in the stunning mountain ranges of mid Wales.

You will be at one with nature but not without comfort. Everything provided for to have a wonderfully romantic time, including a wood-burning stove, sheepskin rugs, a beautiful double bed, romantic mood lighting and an organic food hamper to welcome you (which includes food, snacks, hot drinks and a bottle of wine).

As a part of the experience you’ll also receive a 2-hour holistic Reiki therapy session for two from a qualified local practitioner and get the chance to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology, Europe’s foremost Eco Centre.

Learn to Play Polo

So you’ve always admired the civilized sport of Polo – well now here’s your chance to really get into it, by learning how to play. During this experience you will learn the basics of polo, as well as game tactics and how to control your mount. Even if you’ve never ridden before you can have a great time learning how to play, and you’ll definitely feel comfortable riding and swinging your stick by the end!

In the morning you’ll be taken through basic exercises on a wooden horse or a real pony – depending on your experience. Before the end of the morning you’ll be out on your pony and swinging your stick like a pro! After lunch you’ll be taken through some more training so by the end of the day you and your mates can participate in a real live polo match!

Kids Spy Academy Experience

If your kids are into spying, hidden cameras and intrigue then they will totally love going to a real kid’s spy camp. Here they will learn the ins and outs of spying – including how to use hidden cameras and where to put them. They’ll also get advice from a surveillance specialist and get to try their hand at code breaking and (fake) bomb disarming, just like in the movies!

One key of spying in knowing how to protect yourself should trouble arise, which is the reason for pistol training. The end of the session features a spy test – where kids will have to navigate through a laser-beam maze and try to crack the safe before time runs out. This is certainly a unique adventure fit for any aspiring spy in your family!

Jousting Experience

Head back to the good old days where a man’s worth was decided on how long he stayed in the saddle – with a true jousting experience just like back in the days Arthur’s knights. Using a real lance you will be taught the ropes on how to participate in real jousting games, including collecting rings, broad sword and staff fighting. Whether you are a knight or a lady this is a truly remarkable experience.

You don’t need any riding experience to participate in this event, but it would help. Once your riding abilities are assessed your instructor will decide which activities are appropriate. Rest assured that you will have a fantastic time learning the skills of the olden days.

No real riding experience is needed to be able to participate in the jousting experience day, but would be an advantage for certain activities. For safety reasons if the instructor on the day feels your riding is not strong enough for certain tasks, you will make it up in other activities. Jousting demands a different type of equestrian skill and the horses can accommodate any standard of horsemanship!

Indoor Skydiving Experience

So jumping from a plane is not your cup of tea, or it’s just not the right time of year and you want to feel that boost of adrenaline. Why not try your hand at indoor skydiving? Using an upright wind tunnel you can experience the freedom and weightlessness of skydiving without having to deal with planes, rain, and the expense of skydiving.

At the indoor skydiving centre you will be outfitted in a special flight suit that will help you float gently over the massive underground fan that belts out speeds of up to 120mph. Spread your wings and fly, inside. This is one experience that you can’t miss – bring a friend or family member for even more indoor flying fun.

Hovercraft Blast Experience

You could go for a plane or helicopter ride, take a motorcycle or do just about anything else, but nothing will compare to the complete freedom and exhilaration of piloting a hovercraft. Feel yourself glide along sand and sea as you ride on a cushion of air.

Once you arrive you will attend a safety and information session where you will be instructed in how to pilot the craft. After a few practice runs you will be allowed to take this amazing craft around the course. Once you’ve tried piloting a hovercraft you will wonder why you waited so long, and you won’t be able to wait to tell your friends that you actually got to drive this great machine. Bring your camera for some great photo opportunities.

High Ropes Adventure

Explore and test the limits of gravity while you soar through the sky. While each location offers different types of courses you will be able to try out a bunch of gravity-defying stunts, including climbing, jumping, and swinging, as well as whizzing through the air on zip lines and testing your balancing skills on rope bridges. Scale heights of 13 meters and more, depending on location and see just how brave you are.

Even if you’ve never climbed before you’ll still have a blast tackling the course at your own pace. After a brief safety session and orientation you can start climbing, jumping, zipping and swinging to your heart’s content. Bring a few friends and make it a day of fun to remember.

Military Driving Experience

Driving a military vehicle is fun, challenging, and something that not everyone gets to do every day. Now you can see what it’s like to drive a few different types of military vehicles that were designed to handle some of the world’s toughest terrain during your military vehicle driving experience.

During this amazing experience you will get to drive some of the military’s worlds toughest vehicles – including the Ferret, which can drive 50 mph in reverse, the FV432, and the Stalwart – capable of carrying up to 5 tonnes of cargo. Each vehicle is camouflage painted and you’ll have a chance to take them through the motions while you go over some rough and difficult terrain during this fun and challenging day.

Paintballing Experience for 1 or 2

Now you can have fun, while shooting people! With paint of course. Nothing gets your heart racing like putting on a combat suit and trying to avoid the enemy while you master your paintball skills. You’ll never have an experience quite like this one, so bring your friends and have a great day!

The day will begin at about 9am – this will vary by location. When you arrive you’ll join your group and be given combat fatigues to change into. Once you’ve attended a safety briefing with your group you can head out to start your first of 8-10 games. The experience includes 100 paintballs, but you will probably need some more to fully enjoy a day of paintball shooting.
