Greener Experiences

As we all become more conscious of the effect our lifestyles have on the environment it appears that some companies are also looking at ways to ensure their practices have a limited environmental impact.

This certainly seems to be the case when looking at online experience day retailers, as market-leading experience companies look for ways to offset their carbon footprint and become environmentally responsible.

Red Letter Days (owned by Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis of Dragon’s Den fame) were the first to take such responsibility seriously. They have analysed the carbon footprint of each of their experiences and offset this at no cost to the consumer. They have also ensured the footprint from the day-to-day running of the business is offset by investing in projects at Climate Care, the UK’s leading offsetting organisation.

Soon, the likes of Buy A Gift followed suit, promising to “offset the carbon from our experiences by a factor of four” by working with Cool Earth, an organisation who work with rainforest communities to help protect from deforestation and global warming.

Buy A Gift also has a range of Green Gifts, which the company claims to restore some balance back to nature through tree planting and animal adoption.

Here at Gift Experience Day, we love the fact that experience retailers such as these are becoming more environmentally responsible!
